2017 VIRGINIA SMALL BUSINESS VETERAN OF THE YEAR

Arlington, VA – March 22, 2018 – Stephen R. Synnott, CEO and President of Syntelligent Analytic Solutions, LLC (Syntelligent), was awarded the 2017 Virginia Small Business of the Year award at the Veterans in Business Conference (VIB) at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington on March 22.

The Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year Award was established in 2000 to recognize the accomplishments of a veteran small business owner who has shown commitment to the military, their community and to fellow veterans and their families. Each year, the members of the Virginia Small Business Development Center Network nominate and vote on candidates. The award winner is announced at the annual Veterans-in Business Conference.

“I'm deeply honored and privileged to receive this award, said Mr. Synnott as Jody Keenan, State Director of the Virginia Small Business Development Center, presented with him the plaque. “I would not have achieved such success if wasn't for the talent, dedication and hard work of all our employees.”

Syntelligent, founded in 2010 in Falls Church, opened a principal office in Luray and acquired HUBZone certification. Since the expansion to Luray, the company has grown from 7 employees to 78. Currently, Syntelligent employs 30 Page County residents and an additional 48 employees across the country. Syntelligent is a certified Virginia Values Veterans company, and 38% of Syntelligent staff in 2017 are military veterans.

In addition to the personalized Small Business Veteran of the Year plaque, Mr. Synnott’s name has been inscribed on a separate plaque that hangs next to the Virginia metal crafter’s brass urn, which is on permanent display at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.
