Mr. Stephen (Steve) Synnott, having served twenty plus years as an Air Force Intelligence Professional, retired and has spent over 18 years in the industry supporting a variety of Federal Customers. He has extensive operational knowledge and understanding in the areas of intelligence analysis & reporting, training and learning development, information operations, threat analysis and risk assessment.


Prior to launching Syntelligent in 2010, Steve worked for USIS, where he was the Director of Intelligence Analysis and Technology and spearheaded the company’s efforts across multiple contract vehicles supporting organizations including: DIA, the National Security Agency, the Joint IED Defeat Organization, the Defense Information Systems Agency, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.


Steve previously worked for SRA International, where from 2008-2010 he served as SRA’s Program Manager for the first DIA Solutions for Intelligence Analysis (SIA) contract. There he led SRA’s efforts in pursuing a wide range of analysis initiatives in support of DIA and other intelligence community customers.  From 2004-2008, he was SRA’s Director of STRATCOM Operations, where he headed SRA’s efforts at U.S. Strategic Command in the areas of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction, Global Missile Defense and Information Operations.


As an advocate for Small Businesses, he has mentored over a dozen small business entities providing advice on how to conduct business with the Federal Government. A speaker and panelist at both national and local small business events, Mr. Synnott has participated in events sponsored by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Small Business Administration, National HUBZone Contractors National Council, local Chambers of Commerce, and the Virginia Small Business Development Center. Additionally, he has provided training sessions on the HUBZone program to government contracting officials and a large business systems integrator.


He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the HUBZone Contractors National Council as well as its former Government Affairs Committee Chairman. Working with key stakeholders and Congressional staffers, he was instrumental in pushing significant legislative changes improving the HUBZone program. 


Steve was recognized as the 2017 Virginia Small Business Veteran of the Year by the Virginia Small Business Development Center Network and the 2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year by the HUBZone Contractors National Council.


Steve’s Air Force assignments included tours at RAF Chicksands, United Kingdom; Brooks AFB, TX; Lackland Annex, TX; San Vito Air Station, Italy; RAF Molesworth, United Kingdom; US Southern Command, Miami, FL; and Barksdale AFB, LA.


He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, University College.
